Transport Planner – Cambridge
The Opportunity
We are excited to invite a Transport Planner to join our dynamic Transport Planning team in Cambridge, based there on a permanent position.
This role aligns with a professional who excels in:
- Transport planning for development projects

- A comprehensive understanding of diverse transport planning topics

Our Cambridge team has recently contributed to noteworthy projects, including: 📌 North West Cambridge Development (now Eddington) 📌 Addenbrooke’s Hospital Biomedical Campus 📌 Waterbeach Barracks and Airfield 📌 Tendring and Colchester Borders Garden Community 📌 Alconbury Weald
You’ll work across a broad spectrum of projects—from strategic land development plans and infrastructure delivery to public-sector commissions.
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the technical aspects of transport projects, covering:
- Transport Assessments
- Travel Plans
- Transport Studies
- Technical analyses
- Collaborate with:
- Clients
- Design teams
- Local authorities
- General public (stakeholders)
- Mentor and support junior members of our team
- Contribute to regional teams across five multi-disciplinary projects

About You
Education & Qualifications
- Degree level (or equivalent) in Transportation, Geography, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with transport software packages.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills as applicable to budget and quality management.
Experience & Technical Knowledge
- Hands-on experience with:
- Transport Assessments
- Travel Planning
- Junction modelling/analysis
- Deep understanding of the planning system.
- Ideally, progressing towards professional qualifications.
