Enotria is looking for its next Transport Planner
If you’re looking to master the road through data and discipline, Enotria is looking for its next Transport Planner to bridge the gap between the warehouse and the wheel.
The Role:
The Transport Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating transport movements in an efficient, cost-effective, and timely manner. This role combines hands-on route planning with administrative support and data analysis to ensure smooth daily operations across a multi-drop delivery network.
Working within a busy transport team, the role involves:
- Creating and managing delivery schedules
- Maintaining planning systems
- Supporting continuous improvement in routing efficiency and service performance
A key part of the role is ensuring all transport activities remain fully compliant with UK legislation, including drivers’ hours regulations, Working Time Directive (WTD), and vehicle weight restrictions, ensuring all routes are planned safely, legally, and efficiently.
Strong communication is essential to the role, requiring regular interaction with drivers, warehouse teams, agencies, and internal departments to ensure accurate execution of plans, timely issue resolution, and a high level of service delivery.
The role also requires a proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to think outside the box to overcome operational challenges, optimise routes, and identify efficiencies within a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
The transport planner will work closely with the Transport Controllers, Compliance Officer & Training Supervisor.
Job Specifics:
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Hours per Week: 37.5 hours (11:00 - 19:00 Monday - Friday: weekend cover when required)
- Location: Park Royal, London
- Reporting To: General Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Operations
- Plan and optimise delivery routes using Paragon route planning software
- Manage daily transport plans to ensure timely warehouse cut-offs
- Monitor and adjust routes to maximise efficiency and vehicle utilisation
- Ensure all delivery time windows are met in line with agreed SLAs
- Support dynamic routing across multiple depot locations
- Ensure compliance with Working Time Directive (WTD), drivers’ hours, and vehicle weight restrictions
- Liaise with drivers to ensure accuracy of planned vs actual routes
- Maximise payload utilisation and identify opportunities for additional runs

System & Data Management
- Update key planning parameters (drive times, drop difficulty, unload rates, vehicle configurations)
- Manage and maintain accurate customer and transport data across systems (including NAV)
- Track and analyse planned vs actual route performance
Resource & Cost Management
- Organise and source drivers from agencies and subcontractors
- Monitor and aim to reduce subcontractor usage where possible
- Support cost control through efficient route planning and resource utilisation
Reporting & Administration
- Compile and produce transport performance reports and KPIs
- Maintain trackers and provide data insights to support decision-making
- Manage transport queries and support inbox communication
- Assist with general transport office operations and issue resolution
Team Support & Development
- Provide cover for colleagues in transport office operation when required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport function
- Work collaboratively with drivers, warehouse teams, and internal departments
- Demonstrate flexibility to work varied hours and shifts in line with business requirements, including early starts, late finishes, and occasional weekend support where necessary
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, email, and ability to learn new systems)
- Experience in transport, logistics, or warehouse operations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
- Experience with Paragon or similar route planning software (desirable)
- Knowledge of multi-drop transport operations, particularly within London
- CPC qualification or understanding of transport compliance (desirable)
- HGV Class 2 Licence (desirable)
- Cost-conscious and efficiency-driven mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Professional, proactive, and adaptable approach
- Ability to think creatively and identify practical solutions to operational challenges
