We’re looking for an organised, proactive and detail-focused Transport Planning Clerk to join our team at GXO Sainsbury’s in Daventry on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our transport operation, ensuring deliveries are planned efficiently, drivers are supported, and customers receive an excellent service.
Whether you already have a transport planning experience or are looking to develop your career in logistics, if you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving problems, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an ‘any 5 days out of 7’ shift pattern, working hours rotating 07:00-15:00 and 09:00-17:00.

- Plan and coordinate transport schedules to ensure cost-effective, efficient and on-time deliveries
- Manage transport resources, including third-party hauliers, to ensure all loads are covered
- Monitor transport performance, investigate service issues, and implement solutions to maintain KPI targets
- Produce and maintain accurate reports including transport data, financial information, and operational KPIs
- Identify opportunities to improve transport processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience in transport function within logistics beneficial but not essential
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to collaborate with other team members and departments
- IT Literate, with excellent Word and Excel capabilities
