Transport & Planning Coordinator
Operations Transport & Planning Coordinator
This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient planning of warehouse operations and monitoring of inbound & outbound transport. The position requires close collaboration with the warehouse leadership team, transport partners, customers, and internal departments to optimise:
- Cargo flow
- Customer stock movements into and out of stores
- Resource utilisation
While maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.
Key Duties
Warehouse Planning
- Plan daily warehouse activities to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of customer stock.
- Organise warehouse throughput to meet customer and operational requirements.
- Plan labour and resource allocation to maximise productivity and operational performance, including working with external labour providers.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure timely restitution of containers.
- Monitor operational consumables stock holding and supplement as needed.
- Understand and uphold company compliance with health and safety regulations, company procedures, and quality standards.

Transport Co-Ordination

- Liaise with transport providers, delivery points, and customers to guarantee timely deliveries.
- Monitor collection and delivery performance.
- Resolve transport-related issues, delays, and customer service concerns.
- Hold monthly meetings with transport provider senior management to review performance and set targets for the upcoming month.
Communication and Reporting
- Act as the key point of contact between warehouse operations, transport providers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare operational reports and monitor against internal KPIs.
- Analyse operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support management in planning, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a warehouse or transport setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong planning and organisation skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent time management.
