About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and capable Transport Planner to join our Development Planning team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, mixed-use, education, healthcare, and employment developments, supporting clients through all stages of the planning process.

Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will prepare transport planning assessments, provide technical advice, and help deliver successful planning outcomes for a wide range of projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans for planning applications.
  • Undertake transport analysis and junction capacity assessments using industry-standard software.
  • Analyse traffic, travel behaviour, and accessibility data to support development proposals.
  • Assist in the preparation of development planning strategies and technical reports.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout project delivery.
  • Attend client meetings, design team meetings, and discussions with local planning and highway authorities.
  • Manage your workload to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Support the preparation of fee proposals and contribute to business development opportunities where appropriate.
  • Keep up to date with relevant planning policy, transport guidance, and industry best practice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues while continuing to develop your technical and professional skills.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
