Transport Shift Manager

Join our GXO Phillips 66 Immingham team as a Transport Shift Manager, where you'll lead from the front, motivate drivers, drive exceptional customer service, and ensure a safe, efficient operation around the clock. From managing resources and performance to solving challenges on the go, you'll play a key role in delivering for our customers and keeping the operation running at its very best.
This is a permanent, full time opportunity based on site (South Killingholme DN403DL). Contracted hours of 40 per week, with rotating shift pattern. This is 5 days of 7 rota, working 06:00 to 14:00, 14:00 to 22:00 and 22:00 to 06:00 (When your shifts fall on weekends, the shift pattern is 06:00 to 14:00).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £33,500 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead and motivate your transport team to deliver outstanding service, achieve targets, and maintain operational excellence across your shift
- Keep customers informed and satisfied by providing accurate ETAs and proactively communicating any delivery updates
- Manage driver performance and wellbeing, including shift briefings, absence cover, return-to-work interviews, and day-to-day support
- Drive compliance and operational control through effective management of tachographs, drivers' hours, working time regulations, and transport documentation
- Champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement by promoting near-miss reporting, maintaining compliance, and supporting best practices across the operation

What you need to succeed at GXO:
- A positive, can-do attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing transport environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with customers, drivers, and senior stakeholders
- A customer-first mindset, with the ability to understand customer needs and deliver exceptional service
- Good Microsoft Office and Excel skills, alongside a self-motivated approach and a willingness to learn
- Previous logistics or Transport Management Systems experience is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided
