Ready to take the wheel of a fast-paced transport operation? As our Transport Shift Manager, you'll lead from the front, keeping drivers engaged, deliveries moving, and customers happy.
From ensuring vehicles leave on time and every time, to championing safety, compliance, and team performance, you'll be at the heart of the action. As our Transport Shift Manager, you’ll be joining our fast-paced operation in Bellshill (ML4 3NP) for our customer Wickes.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working Monday to Friday 04:00 am to 12:00 pm (some flexibility required for earlier starts or later finishes ad hoc).
Pay, benefits, and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £34,000 per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company-sponsored pension scheme, life assurance, and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts!
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead by example on safety, championing Health & Safety standards, and creating a culture where safe working is everyone's priority.
- Build and inspire a high-performing team, motivating drivers and colleagues to deliver exceptional results while maintaining strong morale and engagement.
- Keep the operation moving, ensuring deliveries are on time, customer expectations are exceeded, and weekly transport plans are delivered successfully.
- Manage driver performance and attendance, using telematics and operational data to drive productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Own transport compliance, ensuring driver regulations, company procedures, and audit requirements are met with confidence and accuracy.

What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience leading teams in a transport environment, with the confidence to manage people, performance, and day-to-day operations.
- Strong knowledge of transport compliance and driver regulations, ensuring legal requirements are met and standards never slip.
- Calm under pressure and skilled at problem-solving, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving, commercial operation.
- A natural relationship-builder, capable of earning the trust and respect of drivers, colleagues, and customers through professionalism, integrity, and great communication.
