Position Summary: Plan and manage a team of drivers, shunters and clerks, to achieve daily work load to pre-determined productivity and service level targets. Ensure total compliance to all legislation appertaining to health & safety, employment law, EU and company hygiene standards. Key Responsibilities: Manage own and plan adjacent shifts so that budgets are met or exceeded. Establish clear & documented handovers from your shift. Clearly understand issues and achievements from your shift, with productivity/accuracy/issues documented. To consistently deliver an accuracy level for all customers by managing the credit process. Ensure that staff are trained and competent to carry out tasks assigned to them and manage under performance. Ensure our drivers are ambassadors for the company, and are suitably attired and presentable to both customers and the public. Ensure all assessments / appraisals are carried out on all staff on a six monthly basis. Deputise for the Senior Transport Shift Manager or Transport Operations Manager when requested. Plan, manage and control labour usage to achieve budget productivity levels and financial spend. Manage the departmental holiday calendar, process all holiday requests and ensure departmental cover at all times. Shift preparation planning for future shifts, with reference to forecast/actual volumes, holidays and any long term absence. Carry out any reasonable request as directed by Transport Operations Manager or the General Manager Evaluate actual journey duration versus plan, and implement improvement. Meet and greet shift. Support the Senior TSM in the preparation and maintenance of weekly financial figures.
