Location: Coalville Company: Menzies Distribution Solutions
Menzies Distribution Solutions are currently looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our busy team.
Role Overview
As a Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring all work is distributed while complying with Transport Legislation, Health & Safety, and customer service requirements. You will manage the efficient delivery of customer products on time and in full, making strategic use of resources to minimise costs, including optimising driver hours and ensuring adherence to WTD/Tachograph regulations.
Details:
- Salary: £38,240 per annum
- Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off Nights (19:00 – 07:00)
- Operating Environment: Based on a customer site
- Operating Hours: 24/7 operation
- Specialisation: General haulage, working solely with Class 1 Vehicles (predominantly in the packaging industry)
- Parking: Onsite
- Pay Method: Monthly
Responsibilities
Key Duties:
- Execute the planning provided by the onsite Planning Team.
- Maintain Health & Safety Awareness and enforce Transport Compliance regulations.
- Pre-Brief & De-Brief Drivers, manage allocation and resourcing, including sub-contractors.
- Communicate issues promptly to relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee Pod Control and Vehicle Earning Awareness to boost efficiency.
- Manage multi-system usage and compliance.
- Conduct drivers' hours surroundings, tachograph checks, and investigations as needed.
- Source agency drivers and sub-contractors with the local Provider Shared Logic (PSL) where required.
- Ensure accurate trailer checks are conducted and recorded.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Intermittent overtime needed for holiday/substitute coverage.
- Return-to-Work Interviews for relevant cases.
- Changes to workload ability levels and priorities as required.
Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- "Right to Work" in the UK.
- Proven experience in a busy transport office environment.
- Strong knowledge of Drivers' Hours, Tachograph, WTD Law, and Continuous Improvement methods.
- Proficient multitasking ability with IT systems: handling multiple screens/devices smoothly.
- Comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety and Transport Compliance.
- Ability to prioritise and efficiently manage busy workloads.
