Role Overview 📝
As a Transport Supervisor at HIVED’s Hayes depot, you’ll lead key operations under the Transport Manager, ensuring fleet safety, driver performance, and schedule accuracy. Balancing administrative precision with hands-on leadership, this role spans compliance, driver management, and maintenance coordination.

Responsibilities
Compliance Support & Operational Oversight
- Monitor driver hours and adherence to Working Time Directive with the Transport Manager.
- Maintain records for DVSA audits, including:
- Vehicle maintenance logs
- Collection paperwork
- Gate checks
- Fleet damage audits
- Conduct weekly fleet damage audits and gate checks, reporting findings and coordinating fixes.
- Update the Convey compliance dashboard promptly for defects/approvals.
- Expedite VOR (Vehicle Off Road) repairs to minimise downtime.
Driver & Performance Management
- Line-manage drivers, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Schedule drivers, manage absences, and coordinate agency cover for operational demands.
- Collaborate with Transport Manager on:
- Driver training
- Samsara debriefs
- Infringement reviews
- Accident/incident investigations
Fleet & Maintenance Coordination
- Schedule and track Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) to ensure roadworthiness:
- Tractor PMIs every 8 weeks
- Trailer PMIs every 12 weeks max
- Oversee technical compliance, reporting vehicle issues to the Transport Manager.
Planning & Resource Management
- Validate transport plans to align staffing with operational needs.
- Develop a driver recruitment pipeline for consistent shift coverage.
- Partner with planning to resolve scheduling conflicts and implement operational changes.
- Lead the end-to-end driver hiring process to build a resilient team.

Requirements
- Valid Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Deep knowledge of O-Licence compliance and DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) standards
- 2+ years in transport/logistics/operational supervision (driver management preferred)
- Key Skills: Leadership, meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving, and a safety-first mindset
- Attributes: Reliable, structured, proactive, and capable of escalating risks decisively
