Transport Supervisor – Stamford, near Peterborough

We’re recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our busy transport operation at our Stamford site near Peterborough. As part of this fast-paced environment, you’ll ensure the timely, safe, and efficient dispatch of drivers.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
- Represent the Transport Team at daily Operational calls (09:00 & 14:45)
- Act as the key liaison between Heidelberg and the XPO Transport Team as the single point of contact for transport queries
- Oversee Vendor/Defect Management, including Axscend system updates and defect log management
- Handle general administrative tasks (filing, queries, claims) per company requirements and deadlines
- Conduct daily EPOD Compliance checks—ensuring drivers follow correct processes
- Complete weekly KPI Safety Tools (targets agreed with Line Manager)
- Enter Timesheet data onto payroll spreadsheets and resolve payroll queries
- Manage the sickness process via AMP and complete all return-to-work paperwork
- Update the vehicle service maintenance planner
- Oversee driver compliance (infringements, D&CP hours, etc.)
- Keep the training matrix up to date, including scheduling training and communications to drivers
- Conduct a comprehensive incident investigation aligned with XPO processes
- Carry out resource planning for agency drivers
- Deliver Toolbox Talks with drivers
- Regularly complete Evotix compliance checks and ensure safety actions are signed off
- Ensure strict adherence to all XPO company processes & procedures
- Communicate effectively with internal & external customers

- Assist with any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Transport Manager or XPO Senior Leadership

What You Need to Succeed at XPO
You must thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment where adaptability is key—no two days will be the same!
- Proven supervisory experience in a complex transport environment
- Strong compliance and driver hours knowledge
- Experience working in a deadline-driven atmosphere
- Computer proficiency (email management, driver dispatching, daily handover notes)
- Evidence of team-building capabilities
- Previous transport industry experience (C+E driver familiarity is a plus)
- Willingness to drive personal & career growth
