Transport Supervisor

Menzies Distribution Solutions are currently looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our busy team based in Coalville. You will be responsible for ensuring that all work is distributed whilst complying with Transport Legislation, Health & Safety and customer service requirements. You will also ensure that the customer's products are delivered on time and in full using the most cost effective means possible, and best use of available resources including maximising the utilisation of Menzies Drivers in line with current driver hours and WTD legislation.

The Details:

  • Salary: £34,500 Per Annum
  • Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday
  • Hours Per Week: 47.5 Hours
  • Hours: 08:00-18:00 / 09:00-19:00
  • Parking: Onsite
  • Pay: Monthly

About the Site:

  • Based on a customer site
  • 24/7 Operation
  • General Haulage, working solely with Class 1 Vehicles. Predominantly in the packaging industry.

Transport Supervisor Duties:

  • Execute the plan provided by the onsite Planning Team.
  • Health & Safety Awareness and ability to adhere and control Transport related Compliance.
  • Standard Supervisor Responsibilities as follows: Pre-Brief & De-Brief Driver, Allocation/resourcing of drivers/sub-contractors, Communicate issues as they arise to relevant stakeholders, POD Control, Vehicle earning awareness, Multiple system usage/compliance
  • Overtime may be required from time to time to help cover holidays and sickness.
  • Conducting investigations and return to work interviews etc as required
  • Source local agency drivers as and when required (in conjunction with our PSL) and local sub-contractors as and when required.
  • Ensure accurate trailer checks are completed and sent

Transport Supervisor Requirements:

  • 'Right To Work' in the UK
  • Experience of working in a busy Transport office
  • Knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph and WTD legislation
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement.
  • IT literate - ability to multi task and move between multiple screens/systems/devices with ease.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Knowledge of transport systems.
  • Ability to prioritise a busy workload.
