We are recruiting for a Transport Supervisor / Stock Controller to be based at our Wandsworth branch to join a busy local team that supports trade and retail customers.
Position Overview
We are looking for an organised, safety-focused and customer-oriented Transport Supervisor / Stock Controller to manage transport operations and maintain accurate stock control at our Wandsworth branch on a permanent basis. This role is responsible for supervising drivers and warehouse colleagues, coordinating daily deliveries and collections, ensuring timely and accurate fulfilment of customer orders, and maintaining high standards of health & safety and stock accuracy. The successful candidate will combine hands-on operational capability with strong organisational and people management skills.
Main Responsibilities

- Complete and review relevant paperwork and electronic records accurately, including delivery notes, mileage records, vehicle defect reports and stock movement records.
- Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts, investigate and report discrepancies, and assist with physical inventories as required.
- Ensure loads are secured correctly and comply with load restraint and road safety regulations; brief drivers on route planning and safe driving practices.
- Maintain yard and warehouse presentation and safe working areas, ensuring goods are stored safely to prevent damage and minimise risk to colleagues and customers.
- Implement and enforce health & safety procedures, report hazards or incidents immediately and take corrective action to reduce risk.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs or improve customer service and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager to support branch performance and customer satisfaction.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
