Transport Support Operator – Permanent Role, Culina (Telford Transport Team)

CML (Part of the Culina Group) provides integrated supply chain services and expertise for food and drink products requiring strict refrigerated temperatures to discount retailers.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Transport Support Operator to join our Telford Transport team on a full-time permanent basis.
Salary & Conditions
- Starting salary: £27,119 per annum
- Attendance bonus: £1,000 per year
- Working hours: 4 nights on, 4 nights off (6pm–6am shifts)
Key Responsibilities
As a Transport Support Operator, you’ll be responsible for:
- Correctly debriefing drivers on a daily basis.
- Checking all timesheets for accurate completion and ensuring Proof of Delivery (POD) forms are returned correctly.
- Scanning and storing PODs using Culina’s document management system.
- Preparing drivers’ wallets, issuing delivery notes in drop sequence, and providing relevant delivery information.
- Printing despatch notes and replenishing despatch paper as needed.
- Answering the phone and assisting with customer enquiries.
- Downloading drivers’ card / tachograph data.
- Ensuring Estimated Times of Arrivals (ETAs) are communicated to Customer Services.
- Updating all relevant spreadsheets, including:
- Change-overs
- Run summaries
- Trailer check sheets
- Departing loads via the Transport Management System (TMS).
- Ensuring all uplifts are despatched with correct load allocations.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- A positive and adaptable attitude.
- Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information.
- Experience working efficiently under pressure while prioritising workload to meet deadlines.
- A good standard of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
