Transport Support Operator – Full-Time Permanent Role

The Role
We are looking for a dedicated Transport Support Operator to join our Telford Transport team on a full-time permanent basis. Your core responsibility is providing daily debrief coaching for drivers and offering administrative support to the Transport team.
- Salary: £27,119 per annum, plus an attendance bonus of £1,000
- Hours: 4 nights on, 4 nights off (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
As a Transport Support Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Correctly debriefing drivers upon their shifts.
- Verifying all timesheets are completed accurately and ensuring returned Proof of Delivery (POD) forms meet correct standards.
- Scanning and storing POD documents using Culina’s document management system.
- Preparing drivers’ wallets and issuing delivery notes in the appropriate sequence, including any additional required delivery information.
- Printing despatch notes and replenishing despatch paper as necessary.
- Handling telephone enquiries and assisting Transport team communications.
- Downloading driver cards and tachographs as required.
- Ensuring enhanced delivery confirmations are communicated to Customer Services.
- Maintaining updated spreadsheets (e.g., change-overs, driver run summaries and trailer check sheets).
- Utilising the Transport Management System (TMS) for load despatch decisions.
- Ensuring loads are correctly planned for timely, efficient uplift.
