Transport Team Manager
Location: Avonmouth
Salary: £37,000 + Benefits
Working Pattern: 4 on, 4 off | 6:00am - 6:00pm
The Opportunity
Loom Talent are delighted to be recruiting a Transport Team Manager for a well-established logistics operation based in Avonmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport professional to join a fast-paced distribution business, leading a team of drivers and transport administrators to deliver exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance.
The Role
As Transport Team Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transport operation, ensuring vehicles are planned efficiently, deliveries are completed safely and on time, and the operation remains fully compliant with all transport legislation. Working closely with the wider transport management team, you will lead and develop your team while driving performance, service levels, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of drivers and transport colleagues.
- Support the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring routes are executed safely and efficiently.
- Monitor delivery performance and service levels, taking action where required.
- Ensure compliance with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive, and all transport legislation.
- Manage driver briefings, debriefs, and performance reviews.
- Respond quickly to operational issues, delays, and customer requirements.
- Work closely with the planning team to maximize fleet utilization and operational efficiency.
- Produce operational reports and communicate key performance updates to senior management.
- Promote a strong health & safety culture across the transport operation.
About You
You'll be an experienced transport leader with a proven track record of managing teams within a fast-paced logistics environment. You'll ideally have:

- Previous experience as a Transport Team Manager, Transport Supervisor, Shift Manager, or similar leadership role within transport or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of transport operations and compliance.
- Experience managing drivers and transport colleagues.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Flexibility to support the needs of the transport operation.
- The ability to commute to Avonmouth.
