Transportation Operations Manager
Operations Manager – Thetford Depot
Circa £62,000 package plus great benefits
Contract: Monday - Friday (with flexibility to work other shift patterns as required, averaging 40hrs per week)
About the Role

We are expanding nationwide and committed to setting the standard in excellence. As our Operations Manager based in Thetford, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and leading our business.
This is a satisfying and transformational role, focused on delivering unparalleled service to customers, the business, and your team. You’ll manage the day-to-day operations of our Thetford depot, mainly handling distribution with a smaller warehouse element, overseeing a team of ~55 colleagues.
Your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring safety, service, cost-efficiency, and operational performance meet—and exceed—targets.
- Driving budgets, engagement, performance improvements, and strategic planning to drive operational excellence.
- Fostering a safe, efficient, inclusive workplace where colleagues can thrive and deliver their best work.
- Empowering team leaders and managing change during our business transformation.
- Embedding effective coaching, team development, and goal-driven scalable.
Responsibilities
- Lead a high-performance team of 55+ across distribution and warehouse operations, ensuring strict adherence to service, safety, and cost goals.
- Design and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with leadership to drive long-term success as the business expands.
- Fostering a positive and inclusive culture through engagement, trust, and encouragement.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring budget controls, safety protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strengthen relationships with customers, colleagues, and strategic stakeholders.
- Supply chain & risk management, including responsive planning for resources and supporting emergency operations (if required).

Requirements
You may want to consider applying if you have:
✔ Proven experience as a leader in fast-paced transport/warehouse operations, with a mix of distribution and warehouse management. ✔ A strong track record of coaching teams through change, driving high performance and pushing shared goals. ✔ An analytical and collaborative mindset, committed to measurable improvements. ✔ First-hand experience effectively reducing costs, improving processes, and enhancing customer and colleague satisfaction. ✔ Expertise in fostering rapport, managing stakeholders, and delivering in financial-control environments. ✔ Experience in working under CPC with O licence or a willingness to train. ✔ Health & safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH, or eagerness to achieve.
