Treasurer

Treasurer 12-month Fixed-Term Contract | London Office | Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)

Totum Partners is working with a global Law firm to recruit a Treasurer for their London office.

About the Role

You will play a critical role in supporting treasury activities, maintaining financial controls, and delivering an efficient service across both UK and international operations. This opportunity offers hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.


Responsibilities

Banking & Compliance

  • Coordinate the arrangement and administration of:
    • Bank guarantees (rental, performance, or bid bonds)
  • Support sanctions screening, anti-money laundering (AML) processes, and tax-reporting compliance
  • Review banking fees and reconciliation of treasury control accounts
  • Manage account openings, closures, mandate updates, and online banking access

Treasury Operations

  • Assist with:
    • Treasury forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting
    • International funding activities and cash management initiatives
    • Interest rate monitoring across multiple banking jurisdictions
  • Monitor daily cash positions, reconcile transactions, and prepare cash balance reports
  • Maintain records of interest rates, treasury transactions, and key contact details

Payment & Audit Support

  • Support internal and external audit requests, including client money-related queries
  • Assist in payment approval processes to ensure transactions are accurate and timely
  • Handle overseas payroll payments where required

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain treasury records and banking documentation
  • Support system enhancements and identify opportunities to improve treasury processes
  • Experience with Aderant or similar finance systems would be beneficial

Requirements

✔ Currently working within a legal or professional services firm (Must apply with proof of current employment)

✔ Practical experience in treasury or banking operations

✔ Familiarity with the Solicitors Accounts Rules (advantageous but not essential)

✔ Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to build relationships across multi-disciplinary teams

✔ Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel essential)

  • Experience with Aderant or similar finance systems is advantageous

Applications must demonstrate relevant regulatory and financial operations expertise.
