This is a critical trustee role at an exciting point in the charity’s evolution, as the League of Friends refreshes its strategy in response to the changing NHS landscape and a growing focus on community health.

What are we looking for?
Essential
- Strong financial background (qualified accountant or equivalent experience)
- Experience in financial management, planning, and reporting
- Ability to interpret and communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences
- Understanding of governance, risk, and compliance
- Willingness to be both strategic and hands-on

Desirable
- Experience in the charity or public sector
- Knowledge of charity SORP and regulatory requirements
- Experience of working at Board or senior leadership level
- Interest in community health, NHS landscape, or local impact

- Support the Board in making informed, evidence-based financial decisions
- Ensure proper financial controls, governance, and compliance are in place
- Act as a trusted advisor on financial strategy, risk, and resource allocation
