About the Role
An early-stage, high-growth cross-border payments business is looking for a Treasury Lead to build and own its treasury capability as it expands internationally. The company operates in complex, fast-moving markets and uses a mix of traditional banking and digital-asset settlement rails to move money efficiently across borders.
This is a high-impact role in a small, ambitious team. Treasury sits at the heart of the operation, so your decisions will directly affect liquidity, partner funding and the successful movement of customer payments. You will work closely with the Head of Finance, founders and investors, with the scope to shape the function from the ground up.
Duties
- Own the daily treasury position across bank accounts, payment-partner balances and digital-asset wallets.
- Manage liquidity and prefunding across international payment corridors, balancing service levels with efficient use of cash.
- Own the daily reconciliation process and improve the accuracy, reliability and automation of treasury reporting.
- Manage treasury relationships with banks and payout partners, including the onboarding of new rails and reducing concentration risk.
- Maintain liquidity, working-capital and cash-runway models for the monthly finance pack.
- Monitor and manage FX exposure, set the hedging approach and execute treasury actions.
- Partner with engineering to automate treasury processes and move from manual reporting to dependable data pipelines.
- Build practical treasury controls, including clear segregation between execution and reconciliation.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close across multiple entities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
