Role Overview
You’ll report directly to the Head of Treasury and take ownership of cash and liquidity management, ensuring seamless cash positioning, forecasting, and funding strategies.
This front-office role is fast-paced and transformational, where you’ll drive:
- System implementations
- Process design
- Long-term treasury strategy
- Tesco’s digital insurance offering
Key Responsibilities
Core Accountabilities
- Own group liquidity and funding, including:
- Daily cash positioning
- Monthly/national forecasting
- Funding assumptions for strategic decision-making
- Lead FX exposure and hedging activities, with support for interest rate derivatives where needed
- Act as the key internal/funding partner, managing:
- Facilities utilisation
- Intercompany funding agreements
- Optimise liquidity efficiency by reducing idle cash and maximising returns within risk limits
System and Process Leadership
- Design and deliver Front Office Treasury Management Systems (TMS) workflows, including:
- Liquidity and forecasting modules
- FX trading exceptions
- Integration with business intelligence and real-time dashboards
- Implement treasury digitisation initiatives, leveraging data and AI to:
- Enhance forecasting accuracy
- Improve cash analytics capabilities
- Ensure stringent controls are established

Stakeholder and Process Integration
- Engage openly with Finance, Risk, and senior leadership teams to align treasury strategy data with business needs
- Ensure accurate month-end aggregations, financial close, and regulatory reporting
Essential Requirements
- Professional qualification (or in process):
- Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT or AMCT) credential
- Alternatively, equivalent treasury experience
- Relevant treasury cash management experience (5+ years recommended)
- Technical expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of business challenges in treasury liquidity and balance sheet management
- Conceptual understanding of key regulatory governance and risk frameworks (e.g., CASS 5)
- Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and strong financial system knowledge (ERP/data environments)
- Advanced financial/data analytics and Excel modelling, including VBA
- Yours to Carry
