Job Title

Treasury Markets Manager


Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Risk Management

  • Oversee High-Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA) and non-HQLA liquid asset portfolios.
  • Conduct due diligence on prospective instruments, analyse credit risk, and submit proposals to governance committees.
  • Monitor market issuances and manage capital programmes with input from senior stakeholders.

Hedging & Currency Markets

  • Execute interest rate swaps to hedge lending/savings book exposure under approved mandates.
  • Manage foreign exchange swaps to mitigate FX risks in lending operations.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain ISDA, GMRA, and CSA documentation; ensure counterparty onboarding complements regulatory requirements.
  • Update reporting systems with new instruments, hedges, and asset movements for data accuracy/compliance.

Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare materials for ALCO, Regulatory Risk Committee, and Board meetings.
  • Evaluate market conditions (rates, spreads, central banking, funding markets) and translate insights into actionable strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strategic relationships with Bank of England, issuers, and banking counterparts to align with Shawbrook’s treasury objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a numerate discipline (e.g., finance, economics).
  • Professional qualifications: ACT (AMCT/MCT), or CFA.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Treasury Operations at a UK bank or regulated institution.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Tradeweb, and/or comparable trading systems.
