Planning Services Manager
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Planning Services Manager to lead our friendly team of Treatment Planning Dosimetrists here at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The post is within the Radiotherapy Physics department at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.
The successful candidate will manage the treatment planning workflow in a busy and dynamic environment, oversee and contribute to the advanced Radiotherapy treatment plans that have a direct impact on the treatment of cancer patients attending the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The post holder will have the opportunity to drive quality and service improvements and will line manage the dosimetrists and support staff in treatment planning.

Required Qualifications:
- Registration as a Clinical Technologist
- HCPC registration as a therapeutic Radiographer or as a Clinical Scientist

Department Overview:
- Total of 14 linacs (13 operational at any point in time due to continuous replacement program)
- Comprising of 13 Varian TrueBeam linacs, 2 of which have HD MLC and one Varian Ethos System
- Treatment planning performed using Varian Eclipse TPS
- Doses independently checked using RadCalc
- Approximately 700 treatment plans produced every month with the vast majority being inverse planned
- Various techniques established in the department including VMAT, IMRT, SABR, TBI, TSE, DIBH, gating, HyperArc and RapidPlan
Location:
- Main service located at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in the heart of West End Glasgow
- Satellite centre at Monklands Hospital, Airdrie
