About the Role
We are seeking a Treatment Process Engineer Manager to lead a team of internal and consultant Process Engineers within our Asset Planning division, based at our Finham office in Coventry.
Your core role is to ensure optimal process decisions are made across water, waste, and sludge treatment projects—balancing technical excellence, sustainability, and cost efficiency. You will oversee commissioning, align solutions with operational and quality goals, and support key stakeholders in risk-informed, long-term investment decisions. Additionally, you’ll drive continuous improvement in design standards and knowledge-sharing through technical manuscripts and manual updates.
Collaboration with stakeholders—including supply chain, design, and business planning teams—is critical to evaluating process options, conducting risk assessments, and prioritising capital investments in line with the annual business plan.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee:
- Process decision-making across non-infrastructure assets to deliver cost-effective, sustainable, and compliant solutions from project inception to completion.
- Technical alignment with supply chain and design teams, ensuring robust execution.
- Process commissioning by providing engineers, verifying outputs, and contributing to commissioning documentation.
- Whole-life cost analysis (including carbon impact assessment) to guide sustainable investment priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
