Organisation: Leicestershire County Council

Work Location: County Hall, Glenfield, LE3 8RA

Salary: £26,832 - £28,146 per annum (pro rata for part-time) (Pay Award Pending)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week 

Contract Type: Secondment for (until 31st January 2027) (please gain your managers approval prior to applying)

About the Role

Could you work to support effective processes and communications that ensure Ukrainians seeking sanctuary from war have safe and appropriate host accommodation and can access services to support them to live independently in Leicestershire. 

We have a short-term or secondment opportunity to work as part of our Homes for Ukraine Team as a Triage Officer. (please gain your managers approval prior to applying)

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational, communication and data processing skills, with great attention to detail to support key processes within the team.

You will be the first point of contact for new hosts on the scheme, communicating key information about the requirements of the scheme and triaging and processing further communications, requests and required tasks relating to the scheme, as well as overseeing and liaising with partners regarding safety and safeguarding, including DBS checks.

This is a great opportunity to develop and broaden your skills and experience and be part of a unique team making a difference to people seeking sanctuary from the war in Ukraine.

This is a full-time position with potential for flexible working in line with business need.  This is a temporary position to 31 January 2027, pending an organisational change process. The role is based at County Hall in Glenfield with opportunities for home and remote working. 

An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • NVQ2 level qualification or experience in providing customer services
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of people, in a sensitive and professional manner.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to learn new processes and systems quickly and respond flexibly to changing requirements 
  • Confident and experienced in accurately processing sensitive data using a range of software packages and systems.
  • Experience of working in a team, working well with people from different backgrounds.
