We are hiring a hands-on Truck Wash Operative to uphold daily operational standards, ensuring every vehicle is cleaned safely and efficiently to the highest standard. Ideal for someone with supervisory or senior operative experience who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily truck wash operations during shifts
  • Coordinate workflow, vehicle movements and bay readiness to meet demand
  • Ensure all vehicles (exterior + trailers) meet quality standards
  • Safety champion—verify proper use of equipment/chemicals; follow health & safety and COSHH procedures
  • Maintain standards in:
    • Cleanliness
    • Quality
    • Customer service (Act promptly to address issues)
  • Provide on-the-job guidance for team members
  • First point of escalation for operational issues or customer queries
  • Report faults, incidents, near misses, and maintenance issues promptly
  • Support audits, stock control, and reporting with the Truck Wash Operations Manager

Note: This role does not include direct line management, though shift coordination is essential.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Desirable: Supervisory, shift coordination, or senior operative experience
  • Confidence to own standards and guide others on shift
  • Strong communication, organisation, and pressure-handling skills
  • Proactive approach to health, safety, and quality
  • Outdoor resilience – happy to work in all weather for physical tasks
  • Shift flexibility – willing to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends
