True Local SEO Expert Wanted — Painting & Decorating (Central London)
1.5% Commission on Every Converted Painting Job + £50/Month Base
Please read this carefully before applying. This role is not for everyone, and I want to be upfront so we don't waste each other's time.
About Us
We are a premium painting and decorating company based in Central London, serving high-end residential and commercial clients in Marylebone, Mayfair, Knightsbridge, Chelsea, and surrounding areas. We operate multiple companies, but this role is focused exclusively on the painting and decorating brand we have just created.
Our internal sales conversion rate is strong — the bottleneck is purely visibility and lead generation, not closing. That is where you come in.
The Honest Background
Over the last seven years, I have worked with 7 so-called SEO specialists. Exactly ONE is delivering real, measurable results — and he is currently working on a bathroom renovation company, generating leads for our bathroom renovation brand. The rest took my money and delivered excuses. Some blamed Google's algorithm. Others blamed AI.
I am no longer interested in excuses. I am looking for the second person who can actually deliver.
The Role
This role is centred on local ranking — specifically Google Business Profile (GBP) and the local map pack. I need someone who lives and breathes local search: GBP optimisation, review strategy, citations, local landing pages, schema, and everything required to dominate the map pack for painting and decorating searches in Central London, to get us qualified leads.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You will be doing everything yourself. This is not a role for someone who worked in an agency as part of a supervised team, where others handled strategy, technical work, or execution. If you cannot operate fully independently across the entire local SEO stack, please do not apply.
What We're Offering
- 1.5% commission on the value of every painting or decorating job that converts from a lead you generate. Our projects are substantial — a single converted job can pay a meaningful commission, and there is no cap.
- £50 per month base fee to cover some of your costs.
- Minimum six-month contract. We are looking for someone committed to building results, not chasing a quick win.
To be clear: this is a results-based arrangement. If you deliver, the earning potential is genuine and uncapped. If you need a large monthly retainer to feel motivated, this role is not for you.
Who I Want to Hear From
- Proven track record in difficult, service-based niches — trades, contractors, painters and decorators, renovations, plumbing, electrical, or similar
- A genuine specialist in local SEO and Google Business Profile ranking — map pack results you can prove
- Fully independent across the whole stack: technical audits, content optimisation, link building, citations, GBP, schema — the lot
- Confident you can move the needle within 3–6 months
- Strictly white-hat only

Who I Don't Want
- Anyone who blames Google updates, AI, or anything else for poor results
- Anyone who uses PBNs, link farms, fake reviews, cloaking, or any black-hat tactics — you will be dismissed immediately and without payment
- Agencies disguising themselves as freelancers
- Anyone whose experience comes from working under supervision in a team — this is a solo, full-ownership role
- Anyone who needs hand-holding or a large monthly retainer to stay motivated
How to Apply
Do not send a generic pitch. In your message, please include:
- Two or three case studies from service-based or trades businesses — domain, before/after rankings (including map pack positions), and the niche
- The exact keywords you ranked them for and the geographic area
- Your honest assessment of how long it took
If you cannot provide real, verifiable examples, please do not apply.
This is built on trust and results. If you're confident in your ability, the earning potential here is genuine and uncapped. If you're not, this role isn't for you — and that's fine.
Looking forward to hearing from the right person.
