**Harris Hill is delighted to partner with Age UK Oxfordshire, supporting their search for an interim Trust and Foundations Officer.
This is a 6-month contract, working 3 days per month in Abingdon, with the rest being remote.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and resilient writer and fundraiser who excels at crafting persuasive content for trusts, foundations, and grant-makers. This role aims to unlock funding opportunities—both existing and untapped—to help diversify income and support their five-year strategy.
The role holder will:
- Research funding prospects
- Write and submit funding applications
- Manage existing relationships
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure proposals align with mission-driven goals
- Generate income that sustains their impact on local older people and unpaid carers
This position is part of an ambitious, growth-focused team committed to delivering results.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work Plan Development
- Prioritise funding in collaboration with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of targeted trusts, foundations, and grant-makers.
- Improve and enhance the management of Trust and Foundation fundraising workflows via CRM systems.
- Maintain accurate fundraising records.

2. Application Content
- Produce high-quality, persuasive proposals, reports, and presentation materials with relevant team members.
- Interpret existing budgets and translate them into funder-specific templates.
3. Stewardship of Existing Funders
- Implement high standards of donor stewardship for trusts and foundations (typically providing £25,000–£100,000+ annually, including non-financial support).
- Build strong working relationships with funder representatives, including senior staff and trustees.
- Develop and execute tailored stewardship plans, including consistent engagement through communications and targeted meetings.
4. Development of New Partnerships
- Proactively identify and engage with trusts and foundations not currently supporting Age UK Oxfordshire.
- Collaborate with colleagues to map funder networks and uncover new opportunities.
5. Team Systems Coordination
- Maintain and utilise the Trust and Foundation database for donor tracking and performance records.
- Work with service delivery teams to manage funder reporting, ensuring prompt, accurate responses.
- Coordinate funding opportunity prioritisation with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing.
- Stay updated on sectoral research and administrative developments.

Experience
Essential
- Proven track record of grant writing that successfully secured income from Trusts, Foundations, and grant-makers.
- Experience in identifying, researching, and developing funding opportunities.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building skills, particularly with grant-making bodies.
- Success in working to ambitious targets with a focus on building and maintaining a pipeline.
Desirable
- 2+ years working in Trust and Foundation fundraising.
- Experience in securing £100,000+ multi-year funding grants.
- Ability to use data insights to shape compelling funding proposals.
- Experience gathering beneficiary stories, case studies, and data from delivery teams.
- Proficiency in budget shaping, including translating budgets into funder-specific formats.
- Experience reporting KPIs, variances, and forecasting.
