Are you a trust grade doctor looking to develop your psychiatry experience? We have an exciting opportunity to join Dorset Healthcare as a CT1-equivalent trust grade doctor to gain valuable experience in psychiatry.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and conscientious trust grade doctor who has completed foundation training or equivalent and has some experience in psychiatry. You’ll be given time for professional development and supported in planning your next steps in your career either in psychiatry, general practice or other medical fields.
This post is a fixed term maternity cover until April 2027, working 6 sessions per week (24 hours) based at St Ann’s Hospital, Poole on Alumhurst Ward; an inpatient treatment unit for older people with functional mental disorder.
As a trust grade doctor, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams under the supervision of consultant psychiatrists. The post will demand flexibility and autonomy, alongside clinical and personal maturity.

As a trust grade doctor you will assist in the assessment of the mental and physical health of patients, their on-going management and discharge arrangements. You will also take part in daytime cover arrangements for the hospital. The work will involve liaison with colleagues in community teams, general hospitals and primary care and completion of discharge summaries and other clinical correspondence.

You will participate in the junior doctor on-call rota and provide cross cover for annual, study and emergency sick leave with the core trainee on Haven Ward.
