Join Reflection as an AI Trust, Safety, and Integrity Counsel

Our Mission

Reflection is a research lab making intelligence open and accessible for everyone to use, customize, and build on. We build open models that let anyone control their intelligence and help shape the future of AI. Our mission: make intelligence open and accessible to all.

About the Role

We are seeking an AI Trust, Safety, and Integrity Counsel to lead the legal support for all AI safety risks and regulations applicable to the development of frontier AI.

You will work at the frontier of AI law, translating complex global safety and integrity regimes and regulations into actionable product roadmaps. You will be a strategic partner to cross-functional teams across a hyper-scaling AI lab, ensuring that our frontier open foundation models are built with trust, safety, and integrity at the forefront.

You will advise on US and international AI trust, safety, and integrity regulatory regimes and their practical application to frontier AI. Work closely with our product, research, engineering, and safety teams—as well as compliance and business operations—to implement responsible development measures.

This is a high-impact, build-stage role. You will not simply answer ad-hoc legal questions: you’ll design policies, review processes, escalation pathways, and business guidance—ensuring Reflection moves quickly while maintaining a mature, defensible compliance posture.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as Reflection’s central legal expert and primary contact for all trust, safety, and integrity matters.
  • Advise on US and international AI safety regulations—existing and emerging.
  • Design and implement content safety standards for Reflection’s business, collaborating with trust and safety product teams to ensure compliance with safety frameworks.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement safety controls for model development and open-weight releases, addressing current and future regulatory risks.
  • Advise on safety and integrity considerations in strategic transactions, including:
    • Customer collaborations
    • Data and model partnerships
    • Research alliances
  • Address legal risks related to AI harms, such as:
    • US federal and state laws (CFAA, FTC Act, discrimination laws, deepfake regulations)
    • International regulations (EU AI Act, UK Digital Services Act, UK Online Safety Act)
  • Monitor regulatory developments from key authorities (Congress, White House, EU, UK, etc.) and translate insights into practical guidance for leadership and operators.
  • Establish a risk-based compliance posture for complex AI issues, including:
    • Model weights, derivative models, training data
    • Inference access, compute clusters, technical know-how
    • Research collaborations and cross-border exposure

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
