As our next Trust & Safety Associate, you’ll play a key role in helping us build the UK’s go-to home improvement marketplace. From vetting and verifying every tradesperson who joins our platform to maintaining the trust and quality standards our customers rely on, your work will ensure homeowners can confidently connect with skilled, reliable professionals—fast, fair, and hassle-free.
You won’t just be ticking boxes—your curiosity and willingness to dive in will drive real impact. Your work helps millions of homeowners find the perfect tradesperson, safeguarding the integrity of our marketplace.
The Day-to-Day
Here’s what you’ll actually be working on:
- Vetting & verification: Ensuring only high-quality, trustworthy tradespeople can join the platform.
- Customer-focused reviews: Delivering a fair, efficient process that instils confidence in both homeowners and trades.
- Process improvement: Spotting ways to enhance our Trust & Safety measures and implementing them.
- Cross-team collaboration: Working with Customer Support, Commercial, Product, and Operations to solve problems and elevate outcomes.
- Risk management: Investigating threats, identifying trends, and protecting the integrity of our marketplace.
- Building trust: Ensuring every interaction leaves both customers and tradespeople feeling confident in Checkatrade.

What We’re Looking For
You won’t need to check every box—just bring your perspective, passion, and hands-on attitude. Ideal candidates will have:
- Relevant experience in Trust & Safety, customer operations, fraud prevention, quality assurance, compliance, or a willingness to learn and grow in this space.
- Collaboration mindset: A proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves approach with strong problem-solving instincts.
- Communication & judgement: Clear communication skills, sound decision-making, and a natural curiosity to investigate and resolve issues.
- Digital fluency: Comfort with systems, internal tools, and platforms—or the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
- Attention to detail: The ability to make fair, consistent judgements under deadlines.
- Passion for trust: A drive to create a marketplace where both customers and trades thrive.
