Key Details

  • Salary: £26,824–£27,693 per annum (Single Status Grade 6)
  • Contract: Permanent, 39.5-hour week, including an unpaid 30-minute daily break
  • Shift patterns: 6:30–14:30, 8:00–16:00, or 11:30–19:30
  • Essential: Full UK driving licence

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Trust Site Operative to support our academies in East Sussex. This dynamic role involves:

  • Cross-site support across Beacon College (Crowborough), Uplands Academy (Wadhurst), and Hailsham Academy, working as needed with trust vehicles.
  • Pupil transportation: Responsible for safely driving the school minibus between schools in Crowborough, Wadhurst, and associated sites.
  • Maintaining operational safety, cleanliness, and welcoming environments for students, staff, and visitors.

A multi-academy trust based in East Sussex, MARK Education Trust was established in 2012 as Beacon Community College Academy Trust. In 2022, it rebranded to reflect its expanded vision, adding Uplands Academy (Wadhurst) in 2022 and Hailsham Academy in 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Travel between academy sites using trust vehicles to support daily operations and dispatch.
  • Drive and supervision of school minibus for pupil transport as required.
  • Contribute to the smooth functioning of school sites, including equipment management.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for staff and students.
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies, childcare regulations, and health/safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Demonstrated reliability and proactivity with excellent timekeeping.
  • Experience in operational support, minibus driving, or childcare is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience with data protection and safeguarding principles preferred.
  • Does not have convictions or restrictions under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.
