Blue Crystal Literary Magazine is a global, inclusive platform where storytelling, poetry, prose, and visual art come together to inspire reflection and connection. Since its founding on September 22, 2022, the magazine has featured more than 600 authors from over 60 nations, offering a diverse range of voices and perspectives. It curates original, emotionally resonant work that values depth, authenticity, and imagination. Beyond its regular issues, Blue Crystal hosts anthologies, contests, and collaborations that foster community among writers, artists, and readers. Guided by a love of language and a commitment to artistic beauty, Blue Crystal continues to grow as a vibrant space for creative expression.
Role Description
The Trustee role is a remote, volunteer position focused on supporting the strategic growth and sustainability of Blue Crystal Literary Magazine. Trustees help guide the magazine’s vision, participate in governance discussions, and contribute to decision-making on projects such as anthologies, contests, partnerships, and community initiatives. On a day-to-day basis, a Trustee may:

Trustees may also assist with promoting the magazine’s mission, strengthening its international network of contributors, and ensuring that operations align with ethical, inclusive, and artistic values.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in literature, publishing, or the arts, with an understanding of the needs of writers, artists, and readers.
- Experience in governance, nonprofit or volunteer board work, or strategic planning, with the ability to contribute to long-term vision and policy.
- Skills in communication, collaboration, and relationship-building, including comfort with remote meetings and digital tools.
- Background in fundraising, grant writing, sponsorships, or financial oversight is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with community engagement, outreach, or marketing to help expand the magazine’s global audience.
- Commitment to inclusivity, ethical conduct, and supporting diverse voices in the literary and creative community.
- Ability to dedicate consistent time to Trustee responsibilities and work effectively within a remote, volunteer-led organization.
