About Active Cheshire
Active Cheshire is the lead body for physical activity and sport in Cheshire & Warrington. We work across sectors to tackle inactivity and transform lives through movement. As one of Sport England’s network of Active Partnerships, we collaborate with local government, health systems, businesses, education, and communities to build healthier, more active places.
Our vision is a healthier, happier, and more active Cheshire & Warrington where everyone can thrive. In 2025, we launched our “Playing Our Part” Strategy, which sets out how Active Cheshire will:
- Tackle health inequalities and inactivity.
- Embed physical activity into everyday life.
- Align with national priorities (Sport England, NHS, UK Government).
- Drive system change across health, housing, education, business, and community settings.
Trustees play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of this strategy.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences. You do not need prior Board experience, and a full induction and training will be provided.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
