Trustee Position: Chair of Audit and Risk Committee

About Action for Children

Action for Children has been supporting children, young people, and families across the UK for over 150 years. Our core work includes:

About This Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Board as:

  • Provide strategic challenge to the organisation’s governance framework.
  • Ensure robust oversight of financial, risk, and compliance processes.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism within Board-level decisions.
  • Demonstrate empathy for the needs of vulnerable children and families.
  • Act with integrity in line with Action for Children’s values and mission.

Key Attributes

  • Exceptional leadership experience in risk management, audit, or governance.
  • Strong commitment to voluntary governance, ethical behaviour, and long-term impact.
  • A passion for children’s rights and advocacy.

Role Requirements

  • Voluntary position (only reasonable travel/expenses are reimbursed).
  • Three-year term, renewable for up to two additional terms.
