Home-Start Wessex

Home-Start Wessex supports families with young children through challenging times, helping to build stronger, more resilient communities. We're seeking a Trustee - Finance & Income Generation, to ensure the charity remains financially sustainable and able to grow its support for families.

We provide emotional and practical support to families who are facing challenging circumstances, helping them to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and give their children the best possible start in life.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our Board of Trustees and take on the role of Trustee - Finance & Income Generation.

This is a key leadership position, providing strategic oversight of the charity’s financial health and sustainability. You will play a vital role in shaping our income generation strategy and ensuring we can continue supporting vulnerable families across our communities.

  • A passion for improving outcomes for children and families

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities

As a Trustee

  • Contribute to the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity
  • Help shape the strategic direction and priorities of the Charity
  • Ensure the charity complies with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Act in the best interests of Home-Start Wessex and its beneficiaries

As Trustee - Finance & Income Generation

  • Lead and Chair Finance & Income Generation sub-committee meetings
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Support the development and monitoring of income generation strategies
  • Provide guidance on fundraising, grants, and income diversification
  • Work closely with the Chair, CEO, finance staff and other Trustees
  • Report to the Board on financial performance and risks
