Torus Foundation, the charitable arm of Torus Group, is seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills, experience, and insights to support a charity that is committed to helping people thrive. As one of the North West's leading charitable organisations, Torus Foundation works alongside Torus Group to deliver initiatives that improve life chances and strengthen communities. Between 2024 and 2026, over £14 million was invested into community-led projects and support services across the region.

We're Looking For Trustees With Experience In:
We are seeking several new Trustees over the next 12 months and would particularly welcome applications from individuals with expertise in:
- Fundraising and income generation
- Employment and skills
- Community development, involvement, and engagement
- Health and wellbeing
Previous Board or Trustee experience is desirable but not essential. We are interested in hearing from people who share our values and can bring strategic insight, professional expertise, and a commitment to our mission.

The Role
As a Trustee, you will contribute to the strategic leadership and effective governance of Torus Foundation. You will work alongside fellow Trustees and the Executive Team to:
- Help shape the Foundation's vision and strategic direction
- Monitor performance and ensure delivery of key objectives
- Support effective financial and risk management
- Provide constructive challenge and strategic oversight
- Ensure compliance with charity governance and regulatory requirements
- Champion the values and culture of the Foundation
- Act as an ambassador for Torus Foundation within the wider community
About You
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
Experience and Knowledge
- Senior-level experience within an organisation of similar scale or complexity
- Relevant professional, business, or voluntary sector expertise
- An understanding of strategic decision-making and governance
- Previous non-executive or Trustee experience (desirable but not essential)
Skills and Attributes
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership capability
- Ability to analyse complex information and identify key issues
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills
- Confidence to support, challenge, and influence constructively
- Ability to work collaboratively and build consensus
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Time Commitment
Board meetings are typically held quarterly, usually outside of standard working hours, either in person at Torus Office in Liverpool city centre or remotely.
Additional activities may include:
- Strategic planning events
- Induction and training sessions
- Annual appraisal activities
- Development opportunities
