Trustee Role: Sue Ryder

For more than 70 years, Sue Ryder has provided expert palliative and end-of-life care alongside bereavement support, reaching hundreds of thousands of people annually across the UK. Through its healthcare services, online support, community programmes, and nationwide retail network, the charity combines frontline care with research, campaigning, and partnership working to shape national conversations around dying, death, and grief.

As societal attitudes evolve and demand grows, Sue Ryder is pursuing an ambitious strategy to:

  • Expand its reach
  • Develop new models of care
  • Strengthen its voice
  • Ensure everyone can access compassionate, high-quality support during life’s most difficult moments

About the Role

Sue Ryder now seeks to appoint three Trustees to its Board at a pivotal moment in its development.

Key Responsibilities

Trustees play a critical role in:

  • Guiding the charity’s strategic direction
  • Overseeing performance and accountability
  • Supporting the Executive Team in delivering high-quality, person-centred services
