The Treasurer Trustee will take a lead role in overseeing the financial management of the organisation, ensuring its financial stability, transparency, and compliance.

What are we looking for?

Essential

  • Proven experience with QuickBooks.
  • Strong financial literacy and understanding of budgets, cashflow, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to interpret financial information for non-financial colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to the aims and values of the organisation.

  • Previous experience as a charity trustee or in a governance role.
  • Knowledge of charity finance regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Experience creating or reviewing financial policies.

What will you be doing?

Role Purpose

The Treasurer Trustee will take a lead role in overseeing the financial management of the organisation, ensuring its financial stability, transparency, and compliance. They will work closely with the accountant, other trustees, and staff to maintain accurate financial records, monitor budgets, and guide the charity in making sound financial decisions in line with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the organisation’s financial management and ensure records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Use QuickBooks to monitor income, expenditure, and reconcile accounts.
  • Liaise with the organisation’s accountant to ensure timely preparation and submission of financial statements, reports, and annual accounts.
  • Lead on budgeting, providing clear reports to the Board to inform decision-making.
  • Monitor overall spending to ensure resources are used effectively and responsibly.
  • Support the Board in general governance, contributing to strategic planning and risk management.
  • Review, update, and create financial policies and procedures to ensure good practice.
  • Present financial reports at trustee meetings in an accessible, clear manner for all members.
  • Ensure compliance with charity finance and reporting requirements.
