About Us
The NSPCC is a charity like no other, powered by the generosity of the public, guided by evidence, and driven by a relentless commitment to protect every childhood. We deliver life-changing services across the UK and Channel Islands from Childline and our national helpline to local school-based services such as Speak Out Stay Safe, as well as our policy influence work.
We are bold in our ambitions and grounded in our values. Our new strategy is clear: we want everyone to play their part in preventing abuse, we want every child to be safe online, and we want children to feel safe, listened to, and supported. These goals demand strong leadership and sound governance.
The Role
We are in the process of strengthening our governance and seeking to appoint a Trustee who will also be a member of the Services Development Committee. As we transform all aspects of our services, you will play a vital role in shaping our future. You will offer a fresh perspective, strategic oversight and robust challenge and support ensuring our approach to safeguarding, performance improvement, quality assurance, and compliance, are both best in class and continue to put children at the centre of everything we do.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
