Castle Peak Group has been exclusively retained to appoint a Treasurer to the Board of a highly respected and well-established charitable organisation serving communities across the North East.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced finance leader to join the Board of an organisation delivering vital frontline services while driving long-term social change.
As Treasurer, you will help shape the organisation's strategic direction, oversee financial governance and ensure strong stewardship of resources that directly support thousands of people every year.

Our client is one of the region's most respected charities, providing practical support to individuals and families experiencing hardship whilst working to tackle the underlying causes of poverty and inequality.
Alongside its frontline services, the organisation delivers wider programmes focused on financial resilience, community support and long-term wellbeing, making a genuine difference across the communities it serves.

Working alongside an experienced Chair, Chief Executive and Board of Trustees, you will:
- Chair the Finance Committee.
- Provide strategic oversight of financial governance.
- Ensure effective financial controls, reporting and compliance.
- Support long-term financial sustainability and strategic planning.
- Review budgets, statutory accounts and management information.
- Act as the Board's financial adviser and key liaison with external auditors.
- Contribute to wider organisational strategy and decision making.
About You
We are keen to hear from senior finance professionals who can bring both technical expertise and strategic judgement.
You are likely to have:
- A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant senior financial leadership experience.
- Strong governance, risk and strategic planning capability.
- The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly at Board level.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgement and collaborative leadership.
- Previous Trustee experience would be welcomed but is not essential.
We would particularly welcome applications from finance leaders looking to take on their first Board or Trustee appointment, as well as experienced Non-Executive Directors seeking a rewarding governance role.

Commitment
Approximately 1–2 days per month, delivered flexibly through a mixture of virtual and occasional in-person meetings.
