World Machinery (Shropshire) Ltd is a leading UK supplier of Bodor Fiber Lasers, providing dedicated support and maintenance for sheet metal cutting applications. The company offers a broad range of machinery solutions, including laser cutters, tube laser cutters, automation systems, press brakes, deburring machines, handheld fiber welders, and grooving machines. World Machinery serves businesses of all sizes worldwide, focusing on reliable machinery solutions and flexible finance agreements. With over 50 years of combined engineering experience, the team works efficiently to match customers with the right equipment and provides sales support and live demonstrations from its showrooms.

Role Description

The Tube Service Manager is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing service operations for tube laser cutting machinery across the company’s customer base. Day-to-day tasks include:

The Tube Service Manager will liaise with sales, engineering, and support teams to optimize service delivery, track performance metrics, and contribute to continuous improvement of service processes. This role also involves:

  • Building strong customer relationships
  • Offering guidance on machine usage and optimization
  • Ensuring that service documentation and reports are accurately maintained

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in machinery service management or field service within engineering, manufacturing, or industrial equipment environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of laser cutting machinery, tube laser systems, and related automation or press brake equipment (or willingness to rapidly develop this knowledge).
  • Proficiency in coordinating remote service operations, including scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and managing service pipelines and documentation.
  • Solid communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and maintain professional relationships.
  • Competence with digital tools for remote work, such as CRM or service management software, video conferencing, and online documentation platforms.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions under time pressure, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant technical or engineering qualification (e.g., apprenticeship, vocational certificate, or degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering) is advantageous.
  • Experience in the sheet metal, laser cutting, or broader manufacturing sector is beneficial, along with a commitment to safety and quality standards.
