Kara Healthcare is seeking an experienced and motivated Turnaround Manager to provide operational support to our Registered Managers across our residential care services throughout the North East of England.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished care leader with a proven track record of improving service performance, strengthening compliance, and supporting managers through periods of change. You will work alongside our Operations Team and Registered Managers to deliver sustainable improvements, promote best practice, and ensure our services consistently provide outstanding, person-centred care.

If you are passionate about improving quality, developing people, and making a positive impact across multiple services, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As Turnaround Manager, you will provide hands-on operational leadership across our North East services, supporting Registered Managers where additional guidance, mentoring, or operational intervention is required.

You will identify areas for improvement, develop and implement action plans, strengthen governance processes, and help services achieve and maintain compliance with CQC standards while delivering excellent outcomes for the people we support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and support to Registered Managers across residential care services in the North East.
  • Work alongside Registered Managers to improve service quality, compliance, and overall operational performance.
  • Support services preparing for CQC inspections or implementing post-inspection improvement plans.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor service improvement plans, ensuring actions are completed effectively.
  • Strengthen governance, auditing, and quality assurance systems across services.
  • Support staffing stability through recruitment, supervision, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Coach and mentor Registered Managers and senior staff, promoting leadership development and accountability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and produce clear reports, action plans, and progress updates.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with CQC, commissioners, local authorities, healthcare professionals, and other external stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, person-centred care, and regulatory excellence.
  • Provide additional management support during periods of absence, transition, or service development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
