Accounts Receivable Controller

Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC) Salary: £31,380 – £34,000 Location(s): Watford Hours: Full-time Working Pattern: Hybrid (at least 2 days/week in the Watford office)


About this Opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic and hardworking Accounts Receivable Controller to join our team. In this role, you will:

  • Manage your own ledger of customer accounts.
  • Own and monitor aged debt, minimising risk while maximising cash flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collection & Allocation:

    • Gather receipts in line with agreed terms.
    • Allocate customer receipts.
  • Customer & Team Interaction:

    • Resolve billing issues in line with agreed SLAs.
    • Collaborate with internal teams for resolution support.
  • Invoice & Payment Processing:

    • Deliver invoices and statements.
    • Reconcile accounts to assess debt position.
    • Handle debit & credit notes as required.
  • Payment Systems:

    • Use customer Spend Management Portals (e.g., Coupa) to upload data and secure payments.
    • Process monthly direct debit payments.
  • System Familiarity (Desirable):

    • Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite is advantageous.
  • Ad hoc Portfolio:

    • Manage additional duties as assigned.

Key Requirements

Mandatory Skills & Qualities

  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal competency, including proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Excel (including formulas and V-LOOKUPs).
  • Attention to detail: Ability to consolidate repetitive tasks with patience.
  • Prioritisation: Organise workloads efficiently and navigate multitasking demands.

Helpful Experience

  • Prior experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, or reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Finance-related).
