Job Title: Business Development Executive Salary: £40,824 Location: Remote (with travel to Watford HQ) Hours: Full-time Working Pattern: Hybrid (2+ days on client sites/events, remaining time at Watford office)
About This Opportunity
We are seeking a bright and driven individual to join this dual role in one of the UK’s market-leading employee benefit providers.
The Business Development Executive will:
- Lead the full sale cycle for the Salary Sacrifice Car Scheme
- Maintain and grow the company’s SME client base (0-500 employees)
- Act as a key resource for the field sales team, helping to convert leads and introduce new products
- Provide first-line support to partner relationships with employee benefit providers
- Conduct new business presentations (telephone/webinar/occasional face-to-face), proposals, tenders, and quotes
- Manage account relationships across all tiers, up to Director level
Rather than selling additional products, this role will focus on client implementation and strategy, ensuring high-quality support throughout the sales cycle.

What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities

Convert warm leads and inbound inquiries into full cycle sales

Lead New Business presentations (in-person or remote) and produce proposals/tenders/quotes

Develop and maintain bullish account relationships with SME and Director level stakeholders

Serve as the first point of contact for sales collaborators (though referrals go to senior sales role)

Interface with key stakeholders at every stage of the project:
For SMEs: Handling 1st enquiries, monitoring tender and proposal submissions, supporting customer onboarding.

For the internal team: Collating and forwarding information, assisting client training, and proactively managing projects.
For employee benefit partners: Providing timely expert responses to refine products/enhance customer experience
- Orchestrate first contacts over email/phone/calls or website interactions, supporting customers through online systems
- Coordinate Webex meetings for SME clients
- Develop project plans and implement the full cycle of Salary Sacrifice leasing programs, ensuring successful rollout:
- Coordinate enrolments, contractual terms, and internal system setup
- Support full implementation (insurance, finance)
- Manage credit requests to panel funding partners
Benchmarks:
- Mastery of employee tax legislation, car policies, and procedures
- Cheerful, professional interactions with stakeholders of all levels
- Analysis and prioritisation based on strategic alignment to assist the commercial strategy
What We’d Like to See from You

Experience with sales and enquiry management:
- Proven understanding of listening to leads, managing relationships
- Technical/Leadership Sales is a plus
- Average plus: Involvement as a direct sales operator and trainer

Communication skills:
- High attention to written/verbal detail
- Strong engagement with telephony, focusing on promoting relationships at personal/professional levels

Business focus:
- Handling diverse requests efficiently to meet targets
- Developing complex case strategies and empowered team decisions
- Aligning process components within contact centre and commercial objectives

Previous experience:
- Learning to decipher key aspects under pressure
- Exposure to financial services, benefits negotiations, or benefit-led products
- Having worked with new vehicles, leasing or employee education (car key courses, onboarding)

Process and support essentials:
- Administrative skills: GCSE (C grades) level Maths and English
- Multimedia proficiency including Microsoft Word and Excel
