Used Leasing Operations Controller

JOB TITLE: Used Leasing Operations Controller DURATION: 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) SALARY: £36,225 LOCATION(S): Watford WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid

  • At least 3 days per week (60% time) at the Watford office
  • New starters may be required to work 5 days a week in the office during training until competency is achieved

Job Summary

Based in Watford, this role focuses on the operational delivery of all used leased vehicles within the Tusker clients’ pre-loved range. Responsibilities include authorising work, preparing vehicles to high standards for our customers while managing costs efficiently.


About the Opportunity

You will be responsible for:

  • Authorize all work on used leased vehicles, ensuring they meet the high operational and quality standards of our pre-loved range.
  • Coordinate vehicle preparation, including cost-effective cost management and allocation through standard repair and remarketing processes.
  • Maintain customer standards for Tusker clients, ensuring a seamless driver acquisition and handover experience.
  • Maintain the Used Car Stock page to reflect inventory status and accreditation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal Order & Delivery teams to facilitate successful vehicle transitions.
  • Apply green mobility standards to our environmental sustainability goals.

What You’ll Need

  • Extensive knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance (cars, LCVs) for both combustion engines and electric vehicles (EVs).
  • Workshop experience in a manufacturer’s franchised dealership (service desk or workshop).
  • Cost approval and audit experience within lease companies or similar organisations. Preferably with direct knowledge of:
    • SMR (Stored Motor Recovery) authorisation standards.
    • Standardised bodywork repairs approval.

Preferred (but not mandatory) key strengths:

  • Experience within the used vehicle industry or dealership automotive environment.
  • Prior experience in managing approval processes for leasing/re-marketing standards.
  • Proficiency in systems like Salesforce and Microsoft Office.
  • Polished communication and stakeholder management skills when answering customer and supplier enquiries.

Non-Negotiable Attributes:

  • Tenacious attention to detail and accuracy to adhere to processes standards.
  • Self-motivated with target achievement skills, whether working independently or within a team.
  • Adaptability during periods of workload fluctuation.
