Role Description
This temporary on-site Tutor role is based in Birmingham and focuses on supporting students in their day-to-day learning activities. The Tutor will provide individualized and small-group academic support, reinforce classroom concepts, and help learners build strong study habits. In collaboration with teachers, the Tutor will use insights from NOVA’s AI companion to identify areas where students need additional guidance and tailor support accordingly.

The Tutor will also communicate regularly with teaching staff to align tutoring sessions with curriculum goals and classroom objectives.

Qualifications
- Strong subject-matter understanding in core academic areas (e.g., math, science, language arts) and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated skills in student support, including one-on-one tutoring, small-group instruction, and study skills coaching.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse learners and educators.
- Comfort using educational technology and data-informed tools to track progress and adapt instructional approaches.
- Organizational and time-management skills to plan sessions, manage multiple students, and keep accurate records.
- Experience in a classroom, tutoring center, or educational setting is preferred.
- Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practices and creating a supportive learning environment for all students.
- Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in an education or related program is beneficial.
