Tutor & Activities Coordinator

Hestia: Tutor & Activities Coordinator (Wandsworth Schedule)

About Hestia

We make a difference. Hestia is driven by core values of equity, diversity, and inclusion and is dedicated to empowering individuals to rebuild their lives and regain independence.

About the Role

We are seeking a Tutor & Activities Coordinator to play a pivotal role in our Age Activity Service based in Wandsworth.

Hestia’s Age Activity Centre (AAC)

This lively, open-access day centre supports Wandsworth residents aged 60+, helping them stay active, independent, and socially connected. Through a wide range of activities—including IT classes, wellbeing sessions, social events, and occasional day trips—we aim to:

  • Reduce loneliness and isolation
  • Promote community engagement
  • Support older individuals in maintaining health and independence

The AAC fosters friendships, confidence, and a welcoming space where older people can thrive. Your role will also support the Hestia Recovery Café, contributing to the smooth operation of learning, development, and wellbeing activities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate adult learning classes (e.g., IT, wellbeing, arts), ensuring they are high-quality, engaging, and inclusive.
  • Support recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and pool workers.
  • Manage resources—administrative tasks, equipment, and activity planning—while maintaining an organized, safe, and supportive environment.
  • Engage with older adults who may have complex needs or challenging behaviours, ensuring all sessions promote dignity, independence, and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, external partners, and community groups.
  • Maintain confidentiality when recording detailed information (e.g., attendance, service evaluations).
  • Uphold safeguarding standards—identifying risks, reporting concerns, and ensuring all activities align with Hestia’s safeguarding policies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
