About The Role
A very rare opportunity has arisen for a twilight veterinary receptionist to join our amazing team at Tooting Veterinary Surgery. Are you a passionate and experienced Veterinary Receptionist looking for slightly different hours to the normal '9 to 5'? Look no further!
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you'll be the first point of contact for our clients, you'll be the friendly face and the first person our clients see when they walk through our doors, greeting clients with a smile and giving their pets a good old fuss! You'll assist them with scheduling appointments, answering inquiries and providing general support.
Your Day At Tooting Veterinary Surgery Could Include:
- Welcoming clients and their pets upon arrival
- Book appointments and arrivals on the RX Works diary
- Help to promote our Healthcare Plan so that pets are receiving premium discounted preventative treatment
- Booking in follow up appointments for the pet once they have left their initial consultation
- Help the Vet and Nurse team with queries
- Being responsible for paperwork being scanned onto pets digital records
- Ordering food and medication
- Taking payment immediately after treatment of the pet
- 0% finance application processing for those clients wanting to spread the cost of payment for larger operations
- Managing an extremely busy reception desk with efficiency and professionalism - and don't forget about those emails coming through or those social media pages!

This is a Full-Time position, with very flexible hours. Usual hours are 4pm-12am week days, with a 1:4 weekend rota (4pm-12am Sat and Sunday) however we can also look at different hours and offer later starts/ earlier starts to accommodate you!
About You
Ideally you will have:
- Previous Experience working as a Veterinary Receptionist or in a similar customer-facing role within the Veterinary industry
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational abilities and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service
- Be proficient in computer systems and software, having experience using RxWorks is a MASSIVE plus!

Claire Baker joined Alan and Dane as a Director in 2019, originally arriving at the main London hospital in 2013 as a locum. Claire heads up the Group’s operations and vet team recruitment.
