Job Title: Twister Operator

Position Overview

Primary Objective: To set up, operate, and tend to weaving machines that twist yarn together into strands for flooring production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Load and prepare machines:

    • Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load them into the twister machines.
    • Reposition buggies containing yarn and stage tubes for winding operations.
  • Operate and maintain production:

    • Thread ends of single yarns and operate the spindle.
    • Repair yarn breakouts during production runs.
    • Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer them from the conveyor to a buggy/container.
  • Ensure safe, efficient operation:

    • Monitor production output and machine equipment.
    • Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain efficiency.
    • Conduct quality checks using black lights to test for yarn defects.

  • Compliance and training:

    • Attend any job-related training mandated by management.
    • Adhere to standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.

    • Perform general cleaning and maintenance as assigned.
    • Complete other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of all mandatory on-the-job training and safety protocols.
  • Previous experience in yarn handling or manufacturing is advantageous.

  • Basic math skills for calculations and problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail to maintain precision in production.
  • Ability to Troubleshoot standardized variables in repetitive situations.
  • Ability to read spec sheets or product specifications.

Physical & Work Environment Considerations

(Compliance with ADA/Centers for Disease Control) This role may require:

  • Long-term bending, squatting, climbing, or lifting (up to 50 lbs frequently).
  • Work in an industrial setting with:
    • Moving machinery nearby.
    • Regular exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, fumes, and temperature fluctuations.
